Modern Kitchens NYC
Updated:
The Modenese family has built kitchens for over two centuries, and we now do it directly for New York homes. Our family craft, practiced since 1818, joins traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Each kitchen is built to order for you and the home it serves, and it takes its shape from your own tastes.
Italian Craftsmanship Meets New York Luxury
Our family began with a small workshop in Italy, established in 1818, and seven generations have carried the work forward. That history shapes every kitchen we make, combining age-old Italian techniques with a sleek, modern look. Our artisans pair hand-carved details with modern features, so homeowners across Manhattan, Brooklyn and beyond get a kitchen that is both beautiful and practical.
We start with what you want from the kitchen and develop it together with our Italian design team. You can choose 24-karat gold leaf accents, premium solid woods and marble tops made from Italian stone, which is known for its durability and its veining. The design can follow the ornate charm of classic Italian style or the clean lines of a contemporary one. We tailor it to your taste and to the architecture of your space.
Our kitchens suit Upper East Side penthouses and Brooklyn brownstones alike. Marble is valued for its cool, smooth surface and its resistance to wear, which makes it a practical choice for a working kitchen.
During a consultation at your residence, our Italian designers discuss what you need from the kitchen and prepare a plan that includes premium materials, with marble among them. Our Italian workshops make each kitchen by hand, and our installation team visits your home to fit it. The installers precisely align each marble slab to give the finished kitchen a polished look. Our approach to Italian carpentry provides more context on the workshop craft behind the kitchen.
We select the materials for each kitchen with care:
Marble tops are a regular feature of our kitchens. The stone comes from Italian quarries and resists heat and wear, which suits a surface where you cook and prepare food. Our artisans polish each slab to bring out its natural patterns.
Our kitchens grow out of classical Italian design and adapt to modern New York living. Marble anchors the contemporary layouts, and its creamy whites and subtle grays sit well against sleek cabinetry and smart storage. Professional-grade appliances and innovative features come with the kitchen, and marble and wood ground the design in lasting materials.
Your bespoke kitchen takes shape in clear steps:
We keep you informed throughout the project, so the finished kitchen, marble included, reflects what you asked for.
A marble top is versatile: you can roll out dough on it or use it to display decor, and it holds up to daily use.

The Excellence kitchen, a separate New York commission, makes a useful second reference. Here custom cabinetry, appliance integration and material transitions answer the working routine and the rooms seen beyond the kitchen. The composition belongs to this residence and reads as part of the home.
Modern kitchens in NYC apartments must use the available envelope efficiently and feel connected to adjacent living areas. This commission meets both demands with custom joinery and a controlled palette. The Italian kitchen design service describes the approach.
